Inti Raymi is an annual summer solstice celebration which is observed in many parts of Latin America. Ceremonies differ somewhat depending on which culture is celebrating and what customs they follow. Despite the variations Inti Raymi is a celebration and honoring of the power of the Sun, and its life giving energy, on which we all depend. The image featured here shows dancers at the Inti Raymi Celebration held at Cochasqui Pyramids about a 90 minute drive from Cotacachi. One of the charming things about living in Cotacachi is the presence of horses. I walk quite a bit, and often see horses grazing in fields or on grassy vacant lots, as well as the occasional rider clip-clopping through town, but the most wonderful sightings are the horses specifically called upon to lead parades or to be the stars of certain events. Here is a peek at my new office for Circle on the Square. I am currently preparing this place for work that will serve each individual who visits and a space conducive to relaxation, creativity, inspiration. I will provide yoga and art instruction as well as energy therapies to help my students and clients release stress, stretch their bodies and their imaginations, and build upon their intuitive and creative powers.
